The 91,000 acre Elliott State Forest is a treasured public asset. As one of the only large blocks of public forestland in Coos County, the Elliott is a popular place for game & mushroom hunters, anglers, and many outdoor enthusiasts. The State Land Board is attempting to sell the entire forest despite state law explicitly forbidding the sale of the Elliott (ORS 530.450) as well as Oregonian’s overwhelming opposition to privatizing the Forest. Not only is the Elliott State Forest a critical spawning habitat for coastal Coho Salmon, it is one of the last remaining native forests. Half of the Elliott has never been logged and converted to douglas-fir plantation and we need your help to keep it that way!

Please tell our legislators to keep the Elliott State Forest public!
